Harnaaz Sandhu, the current Miss Universe title holder, constantly shares her stance, supporting body acceptance since the beginning of her reign. She recently gave a clear example of self-love by showing herself naturally, proving that we all have imperfections, even beauty queens.

Harnaaz starred in a fabulous photo shoot in which she models different colored straight, wavy and curly wigs. As a complement, she recorded a behind-the-scenes narrating the whole process without a single drop of makeup.

The current beauty queen taught us to love ourselves and our imperfections.

At 22 years old, the beauty queen showed us that she is not afraid to show her face without filters or makeup and proud of her “imperfections”. She spoke in front of the camera radiating self-love with each of her words, sure of herself.

On December 12, 2021 Haarnaz Sanghu was crowned the most beautiful woman in the world, earned the recognition of her country and became the third representative of India to win the title.

Months after becoming Miss Universe 2021, she began to receive harsh criticism on social media for her “weight gain”. Although she stayed away from the controversy, she later clarified that she suffers from celiac disease.

The Indian actress, model and beauty queen explained that the disease is an immune reaction to the consumption of gluten, a protein found in wheat, oats, barley and rye.

“About 10-30 percent of the world’s population suffers from food allergies. I have a gluten allergy that is common and can be linked to a large proportion of people worldwide, which can be controlled by simply eliminating some food groups from the diet. Thank you for understanding.

Despite criticism for her weight gain since receiving the crown, during her reign she has been a great activist for “Body Positive” constantly questioning the way society presents and observes people’s bodies.
