Heels can crack when the skin covering them becomes dry and does not expand as necessary when walking.

However, if you already suffer discomfort and pain from cracked heels, follow these home remedies to get some relief.
1. Aloe vera
Aloe vera is a shrub with a short stem, triangular gray-green leaves with small teeth and a shiny gel inside, which can help fight cracked heels.
Different studies found that this substance has a great anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, healing, toning and deep penetration power in the skin, thanks to its ability to retain water and the presence of vitamins A and E.
It also has compounds, such as acetylsalicylic acid, auxins and gibberellins, which seem to act as analgesics, anesthetics and healing agents, ideal for correcting the wounds of cracked heels.
What to do:
To take advantage of the protective and renewing effects of aloe vera and care for cracked heels, you must first bathe your feet well in warm water and then rub gently with a pumice stone or loofah to remove traces of dead skin.
Then rinse and dry thoroughly (in the case of cracked heels, it is always recommended to dry by tapping gently, never rubbing as this can make the situation worse).
Apply a thick layer of aloe vera gel on the heels and put on socks (preferably cotton, but can also be wool).

What to do:
Prepare a mixture of one cup of Listerine, one cup of white vinegar, and 2 cups of water. Soak your feet and let them sit for 15 minutes then remove and scrub with a loofah or pumice stone. Then rinse with clean water and dry gently. Remember to apply a little of your moisturizer after this procedure.
5. Vaseline and lemon juice
Vaseline, also known as petroleum jelly, petroleum jelly or petrolatum, is a homogeneous mixture of long-chain saturated hydrocarbons. It is obtained from the refining of a heavy fraction of petroleum.
