The broth can be made from beef, turkey, lamb, chicken or fish, rich in nutrients and also effective as an anti-inflammatory, burns fat and gives skin elasticity, according to Dr. Kellyann.
Then again, our grandmothers knew this well, as they prepared it whenever someone was unwell, or needed a boost of strength. The New York Times called it “The new magic recipe in the eternal quest for perfect health.
How the broth diet works
It is actually intermittent fasting, basically, with the detail that during the fast you drink broth, at least twice a week. In this way one can put aside that feeling of deprivation and sacrifice consequent to a fast, since on that occasion one is satiated and completely satisfied anyway, according to the doctor. All of these promises are accompanied in the book by an ample number of gourmet recipes, developed by Dr. Kellyann herself, that make it possible to follow a controlled eating regimen, during the rest of the week, but with much satisfaction.
Carbohydrates, refined and processed fats, artificial sweeteners, soy, dairy products, sauces and sugars are eliminated altogether, during the period when one wants to lose weight; they can be reintroduced with caution later, when one moves to the maintenance phase. You can eat all meats, fish, eggs, cold cuts and sausages without nitrites, gluten or artificial additives, vegetables and spices, fruits, healthy fats (see note), plenty of water, little coffee or tea.
